Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. This is the first post on my new site, so a short introduction feels like the right place to start.
Who I am
I’m Andrew Herendeen, an accountant and developer living in St. George, Utah. I spend my days working with financial data and the systems around it, and a good chunk of my free time building software and automating the parts of work that don’t need a human.
Why this site exists
I’ve learned a lot at the intersection of accounting and code, and I keep running into problems that are obvious in hindsight but took me a while to solve. This is where I’ll write those things down — partly so I remember them, and partly in case they save someone else some time.
Expect posts on:
- Accounting and bookkeeping done well
- Automating tedious financial work
- Web development and small tools
- Whatever I happen to be learning
That’s it for now. More soon.
