About
I’m Andrew Herendeen — an accountant and developer based in St. George, Utah.
My background is in accounting: keeping books accurate, making sense of the numbers, and building the processes that let a business trust its own data. Over time I found myself reaching for code to do that work better — automating the tedious parts, cleaning up reports, and building small tools that save hours every month.
These days I sit comfortably between the two worlds. I care about the same things in a ledger and in a codebase: precision, clarity, and systems that hold up under pressure.
What I work with
- Accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
- Spreadsheets pushed well past their comfort zone
- Web development and automation
- Turning manual, repetitive work into reliable software
This site
This is my corner of the web — a place to write about accounting, software, and the overlap between them. Expect notes on things I’ve figured out, tools I’ve built, and the occasional lesson learned the hard way.
